Drawing In Huddersfield

In this task we ventured out into Huddersfield to draw and sketch different places and its daily life. The point of this excercise was to improve our skills with realism sketching and to experiment with different drawing styles and techniques.

This first drawing is a light sketch from the first location. The drawing focuses on my skill to draw something at a diagonal perspective and it is of a high street that is sheltered by a sky light. The angle I chose to draw this I did struggle with because I couldn't quite visualise where the lines that create the tunnel illusion effect went on my page, so the drawing as a whole looks like it was drawn from a birds eye view. For improvements I would seriously workout about the line structure of the drawing before proceeding.

This drawing was drawn in the second location and I chose to draw the butchers shop there. The drawing is darker than the first sketch and includes more detail. The drawing is rough around the edges but I am happy with including detail that is happening inside the shop. For improvements on this drawing I would make it more clean than rough.

This drawing was drawn in the third and final location and it was of the Mcdonalds with old buildings that sit above it. I believe this is my best drawing out of the 3 because I feel I got the perspective right and I included lots of detail.

I didn't experiment with different drawing techniques in this session I just did 3 pencil sketches but next time I will definitley experimet in three other techniques and ignore sketching with a pencil.

I have never really sat down and drawn something that is infront of me before so I feel I have learnt and improved my skill in realism drawing.

In the future when I come to animating I know I will use this technique for creating a refernce when I need to recreate a place for the animation.
